Texts after voicemail (SMS)
A short text goes out when a lead's call ends in voicemail; replies land on the lead's page and STOP is honoured automatically.
What happens
When an outbound call to a lead ends in voicemail, the desk sends the voicemail text within a minute: once per lead per day, only to mobiles in the enabled countries, only inside the sending window (desk time), never to a do-not-call contact, never after a STOP, and never once the person has replied — from then on it is a conversation for a human. The text appears on the lead's timeline and in the 'Text messages' card.
Replies
A reply arrives on the lead's page and the lead's owner is notified (managers when there is no owner). A reply of STOP, UNSUBSCRIBE, CANCEL, END or QUIT opts the number out permanently, sends the opt-out confirmation and is written to the audit log; nobody can text that person again.
Sending yourself
On a lead or client page, the 'Text messages' card has a send box; {firstName} and {company} are filled in. The same rules apply: window, country, opt-out, and at most three texts in 24 hours.
Setup (admins)
- Settings → SMS follow-up: switch on, set the Telnyx sending number and the window, adjust the template (keep the opt-out line).
- Telnyx portal: put the number in a messaging profile with the webhook URL shown in Settings; put the profile's public key in the server environment as TELNYX_PUBLIC_KEY.
- Send yourself a test text from Settings. Until the Telnyx side is set up, nothing is sent and the card says why.
Marketing texts to UK numbers must carry an opt-out and stay within reasonable hours; the defaults (08:00–20:00, STOP handling, one automatic text a day) are set for that. Your compliance owner signs off the wording.
